Charing Cross Theatre Stalls

The stalls is the primary seating section in the Charing Cross Theatre. Housing 256 of the total 276 seats, this section offers a generally great view of the stage. The section is split into two subsections by a large aisle that runs behind row J. While there are no outright restrictions from any seat in this section, seats in the first couple of rows feel too close to the stage and can sometimes lead to the action being missed from the corner of the stage. There's a distinct rake in the rear section of the stalls which lends the rear seats a distant but clear view of the stage. Depending on the type of show you're watching, we would recommend choosing seats in the middle of the section or closer to the front.

There are 21 rows in total in the stalls section. The first block of seats are labelled in the range of A to J. After row J, there's a wide aisle which separates the two sections. The rows pick up from K and end with X. The seats are numbered in the range of 1 to 12, moving left to right. There two sets of 5-seater benches available on either side of the stalls section as well.

Charing Cross Theatre Balcony

The balcony section only 20 seats and these are essentially slips that run down the side of the auditorium. This is not a particularly great set of seats since the view can be obstructed by lighting equipment and also the overall angle of these seats. The view offered is side-on and not something to write home about. There's no rake in this section as well, further impacting the view in the off chance that someone really tall takes the seat next to you. The two sets of balcony seats are located on either side of the stage and the one closest to the stage is numbered 1 and the last one is numbered 10.

Which Seats Offer The Best View?

There aren't a whole lot of seats available in the Charing Cross Theatre. But even with the limited seating, there are genuine options to choose from when it comes to the best seats in the house. We would recommend opting for a seat in row J for the best view of the stage since there are no obstructions and the gentle rake makes for the perfect viewing angle. If the show you're watching is a big musical, we would recommend opting for seats in the rear section of the stalls.

Which Seats Offer the Best Value for Money?

Since the Charing Cross Theatre is quite small, there isn't much of a difference in the view offered from one row to the next. Still, thanks to the prestige associated with front row seats, these are priced higher than the ones in the rear rows. If you don't want to spend upwards of £100 on a single ticket, opt for the rear row seats. These seats feature a decent enough rake, allowing patrons a clean view of the stage. The corner seats in the middle section of the stalls are also value-for-money since they don't cost as much as the premium seats but offer a workable view of the stage.
