Laura Pels Theatre Seating Chart | Merrily We Roll Along Guide

Navigating The Theatre

With an approximate seating capacity of 450 seats, the Laura Pels Theatre is the average size for an off-Broadway theatre. The seats are spread across two sections, the Orchestra and the Mezzanine, with the former holding a majority of the seats. Since the theatre is quite small in size, most seats offer a great view and acoustics. Still, there are some seats that are better than the others. Let’s look at each section in detail and help you make a decision regarding the seats you should opt for.

Laura Pels Theatre Orchestra

The orchestra section in the Laura Pels Theater is the bigger of the two sections by a huge margin. The section houses a total of 350 seats out of the total of 450. These seats are further divided into three subsections to make their classification easier. The middle section is the biggest and offers great views of the stage since the seats are placed directly opposite the stage. The corner two subsections are also decent, although you can avoid the extreme corner seats, if possible.

The seats in the orchestra section are labelled from A to Q, with 16 rows in total. The middle orchestra seats are numbered between 101 to 113, moving right to left. The right orchestra has even numbered seats in the range if 2 to 14 while the left orchestra has odd numbered seats in the range of 1 to 15.

Laura Pels Theatre Mezzanine

The second and only elevated seating section in the Laura Pels Theater is the mezzanine. With less than 100 seats, this section is almost one third the size of the orchestra. Still, if you prefer being at a height while watching the show, the mezzanine section has quite a few good options for you to choose from. Just like the orchestra section, the mezzanine is also divided into three subsections.

The mezzanine section has only three rows AA, BB and CC. The middle subsection of the mezzanine has seats in the range of 101 to 114, moving right to left. The left mezzanine subsection has odd numbered seats in the range of 1 to 13 and the right mezzanine has even numbered seats in the range of 2 to 14.

Which Seats Offer the Best View?

The seats in orchestra provide excellent overall views of the stage, and seats towards the central aisles are the best for access both after and during the performance. The best seats are located in the first couple of rows of the orchestra. The outstanding inclination in the seating also ensures that even if the front few rows are booked, you still get a clear, direct look at the stage by picking any seats in the middle rows of the center orchestra subsection. If you want the best overall view of the entire stage, sit in the middle and centre, specifically in rows F-L. You can also sit in the front three rows of the mezzanine for a great view of the entire stage.

Which Seats/Section Offer the Best Value for Money?

You can find value-for-money seats in the front and middle rows of both the sections. Sit in row E of the orchestra which is just one row behind premium seats and offers the same clear view at pretty much half the price! You can also try the seats towards the rear of the orchestra as these are discounted yet offer an exceptional view of the stage. The second row of the mezzanine section is also a steal since it doesn't cost as much as the premium seats and still offers you a great view of the stage.

How Far in Advance Should You Book Merrily We Roll Along Tickets?

Merrily We Roll has been hosted in Broadway before but there's still a lot of excitement surrounding the 2019 version of the classic tale and given that Broadway legend Stephen Sondheim is associated with the project, you can expect a lot of people to show up for the show. Another point to remember here is that the show is running for a limited time only, which also means you'll need to plan your trip in advance.

Given the audience's’ expectation with the show and its cast, we would recommend getting a headstart of two weeks if you’re planning on booking the best seats in the theatre like premium orchestra or premium mezzanine. Headout, an online concierge for the best experiences in your city, allows you to book seats up to 90 days in advance! You can expect a similar kind of reception for Toni Stone, when it premieres in June.
