Are those voices in your head? Don’t worry. We hear them too. The musical phenomenon Be More Chill, the story of a high schooler who swallows a “squip” microchip to learn how to be cool, has sponsored a karaoke contest ahead of its Broadway opening March 10 at the Lyceum Theatre.
The show invited participants to submit a video of themselves singing one of three numbers from the show: “I Love Play Rehearsal,” “The Squip Song,” and, of course, George Salazar’s “Michael in the Bathroom” (which has garnered more than three million views on YouTube). The winner will receive a trip to New York and get to perform their song of choice on stage at the Lyceum.
As submissions have just closed, we’ve got a lot of watching to do before voting for the winner on March 19. Standing ovations to everyone who participated! Here are some of our favorites…

Be More Chill is now in previews at the Lyceum Theatre with an opening night scheduled for March 10. The entire Off-Broadway cast appears in the Broadway production, including stars Will Roland (Dear Evan Hansen), George Salazar (Godspell), Stephanie Hsu (SpongeBob SquarePants), and Jason Tam (If/Then, Lysistrata Jones).
