Opened to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Singapore Zoo, the new Rainforest Lumina experience is an exciting new addition to the list of attractions in Singapore. The zoo itself occupies 28 hectares of land and the has about 315 species of animals inside. The new Rainforest Lumina attraction is a night time experience that allows people to visit the zoo after dark and experience a one-of-a-kind walk through a carefully laid of set of interactive installations. With a unique story to tell about how everything is part of a larger whole, themed on the motto “We are One”, the Rainforest Lumina experience allows its visitors to immerse themselves in the audio-visual spectacle before them.
Your Rainforest Lumina Experience
The entire Rainforest Lumina experience is a multisensory spectacle for all age groups to enjoy. It was created in partnership with the Moment Factory that has already installed similar experiences in other parts of the world. Once you begin the trail, you will be introduced to the animals from Creature crew, a group of animal personas who will guide you through the entire trail. Throughout the Rainforest Lumina Trail and its many attractions, you will interact with the many installations as you delight in their audio-visual splendour. Walk through experiences like the Garden of Virtues, the Luminous Pathway, the Shimmering Islands, and the Wall of Fame. Each one is a different experience that will showcase animals like orangutans, pangolins, and flying foxes to name a few. As you walk through the forest at night, you will watch yourself get immersed in the entire adventure while wishing for it to never end.

So what exactly does one get to witness at Rainforest Lumina? Through a series of 11 zones divided into 4 major interactive sections, here's a gist of what one can experience in each of these interactive zones.
Zone 1
Sing Like An Animal
Sing like an animal gives you an opportunity to join the creature crew and appreciate the sounds and music that nature makes all the time. Listen closely and draw the animals out with whispers and songs to have them celebrate the forest with you.
Zone 2
Call Of The Wild
The Call of The Wild is one of the most immersive installations in the Rainforest Lumina. It is a beautiful audio-visual treat that takes you on a journey to show you how the Creature Crew works together in times of adversity to overcome challenges and save the forest.
Zone 3
Play Like An Animal
Play like an animal allows you to bring out your inner child and playful side. You get to play games with the Creature crew and join in on their mischievous antics, as they guide you through the trails. With the mischief and play, this installation will become one of your favourite experiences.
Zone 4
Wall Of Fame
The Wall of Fame is your opportunity to celebrate the motto of the Rainforest Lumina, “We are One”. Here you can take a photo with your favourite member of the Creature Crew, so that you have a photo souvenir to keep with you always.
Rainforest Lumina Singapore Zoo Tickets
There are 2 types of tickets one can purchase at Rainforest Lumina Singapore.
Rainforest Lumina Tickets
This ticket provides admission to Rainforest Lumina only. With this ticket, one cannot gain access to other parts of the Singapore Zoo. The prices for this ticket type is:
- Adults - SGD 20
- Children - SGD 14
Rainforest Lumina + Single Park Combo Tickets
These are Value Combo deals that can be availed if you're keen on visiting another Wildlife park along with Rainforest Lumina. You can choose from 4 parks.

- Monday to Sunday from 7:30 PM to 12 :00 AM
- Last admission at 10:30 PM
Rainforest Lumina Tour Timings
Tours commence daily at 7:30 PM, 08:00 PM, 08:30 PM, 09:00 PM and 09:30 PM
Getting to Rainforest Lumina
- By MRT

You can take the North-South line and then a connecting bus to reach the Zoo. The closest stations are Khatib NS14, Choa Chu Kang NS4, Ang Mo Kio NS16, Woodlands NS9, Marsiling NS8.
- By Bus

You can take the Mandai Khatib Shuttle daily from the Khatib MRT station to the Singapore Coach Bay. The trip will take you about 15 minutes. Other buses you can take are the 138, 926, and 927.
- By Car

It takes 30 minutes to drive to Singapore Zoo. There are two routes you can choose from: Either via the Central Expressway (CTE) or via Pan Island Expressway (PIE) from the City.
Know Before You Visit Rainforest Lumina
- You are allowed to take photos throughout the Rainforest Lumina experience, so make sure you charge your phones and camera.
- The entire experience will take 45 minutes to an hour to finish.
- You can buy your tickets onsite but try and book them in advance for better deals.
- Each group will depart within 30 minutes of the time indicated on the tickets, unless there are unforeseen circumstances preventing departure.
- The experience has no real animals, and is built using digital equipment, hence completely safe for visitors of all ages.
