The Story
Based on the classic animated Disney movie of the same name, The Lion King musical is a coming of age story about the young lion prince Simba. As a cub, Simba grows up idolising his father Mufasa, who rules over the wild African Savannah. In a twist of fate, his father dies in an orchestrated murder by his uncle Scar. Scar also drives away Simba by insinuating that he caused his father’s death, and unable to live with his guilt, Simba runs away from the pride.
Soon enough, he makes two unlikely friends- Timon and Pumba, and together, they form a quirky trio, until Simba’s childhood Nala comes back into his life and reveals Scar's sinister plan. Simba finally accepts his destiny as the Lion King and heads back to the pride. From having his innocence snatched with his father’s death to his reckoning, Simba comes a long way.
