About the Show
Rip It Up is directed by Gareth Walker, who has been instrumental in choreographing shows like the Closing Ceremony of the London Olympics as an Associate Director, and working with stars like Jay Z, Rihanna, and Coldplay. The energetic cast keeps the show pumping for 2hrs 20 minutes with one interval in between. Steve Howell (Set Design) and Ryan Howard (Video Design) have collaborated to recreate the neon-lit bright stagecraft of the 60s and included imagery and videography to bring in the 60s feels.
The Story
Rip It Up the musical is the most entertaining and energetic ballet show to hit West End. The fabulous four – Harry Judd, Aston Merrygold, Jay McGuiness, and Louis Smith – are masters of their domain and never cease to thrill. The common string that holds them is their pedigree at the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ show. The audience will witness the exhilarating gymnastics of Louis Smith, who has won 4 Olympic Medals at three separate Olympic Games and made Britain proud!
The boys will croon to fantastic tracks, dance, perform amazing feats and stun you with their all-around performances! They are supported by a wonderful cast of dancers, singers, and musicians who will bring alive the songs of the 60s. The sets are a burst of colours, and the musical is interspersed with video of celebrities and footage back from the 60s, which will take you down the nostalgia train.
