While New York City is known for a lot of things, there is one that stands out from the others - Broadway. Home of the American theatre industry, Broadway is believed to have some of the world's best productions (which subsequently compete at the Tony Awards).
To qualify as a Broadway theatre, a theatre must be able to seat over 500 people. Currently, there are 41 such theatres in the Great White Way, each of which put up fabulous shows and musicals. Between 2016-2017, over 13 million people watched a show on Broadway, fuelling this billion-dollar industry.
To say that theatre is popular is an understatement; watching a Broadway show is a quintessential New York City experience, one you just cannot miss!
What is Broadway Lottery?
While watching a Broadway show is an experience you just cannot miss when in New York City, tickets to a good show can be quite expensive. However, there are multiple ways to get discounted Broadway tickets. One such way is to get tickets through Broadway lottery.
As the name suggests, you can enter your name in a raffle organized by the theatre or register on a third-party website or the show's website. Winning names are picked at random, and those that win the lottery get tickets for the show (usually the Orchestra section) for a nominal price.
Our guide below will help you find the lottery policy for your favourite Broadway shows.
