Where Are We Now Theatre Festival

Where Are We Now, northwest Ireland’s first queer theater festival, returns for its second season May 2-6, 2018. Curated by The Rabbit’s Riot Theatre Company, the festival includes an array of genre-pushing works worth a trip across the pond. Highlights include:

Tuesdays at Tescos
TheatreofplucK presents a showing of the film of their Irish premiere of the French sensation about love and death among the aisles, starring one of Belfast’s best-loved and most inimitable actors, the late Peter Quigley, in a tour-de-force performance.

Macbeth
The Scottish play gets a facelift, set in New York City circa 1996 in a blurry, neon, sweaty daze.

Jungle Door
A visual delight, Jungle Door invites its audience to indulge in the joyous, disheartening and hopeful moments over a year shared by Michelle and Louise.

Precisionism
It’s 1925 and New York is a city run on drink and drugs, sex and jazz. A criminal kingpin vanishes, leaving behind his top lieutenants, an empire of vice and a tantalizingly vicious rumor.

In addition, there will be presentations of short plays, spoken word, poetry, and themed parties. For more information, click here.
